Hello parents and families! Welcome to the first AAE Events Newsletter for the 2018-2019 school year. Below you will find information on upcoming events and activities happening at AAE and events that are open to AAE students.

-Any eighth grade student interested in applying for the KAMAN mentorship program must submit the application by September 28th. Click the link for the application and more information.https://goo.gl/4ZyN46

-On September 29th, AAE's own debate club will be hosting their first Connecticut Debate Association tournament. Good luck AAE debaters!

-AAE after school clubs will begin to be rolled out on October 1st. Students will have an opportunity to view information on each club and sign up for a club they are interested in. More club information will be given out in next week's newsletter.

-AAE's Hispanic Heritage Night will be held on October 4th at AAE from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Activities will include the musical group Movimiento Cultural that will present a workshop on Bomba y Plena from Puerto Rico,
and there will also be student dance performers. Keep in mind we will also be selling raffle tickets to win prizes that support small businesses and restaurants in the Hartford area. Please click the links to RSVP and

Para celebrar el mes de la hispanidad, tendremos una noche de herencia hispana el 4 de octubre de 6-8 pm en la escuela organizada por el departamento de español. Habrá comida tipo “potluck” entonces pedimos que traigan algo de comer con su receta para compartir. El
grupo musical Movimiento Cultural presentará un taller sobre la Bomba y Plena de Puerto Rico y habrá presentaciones de baile por nuestros estudiantes. También tendremos rifas para ganar premios que apoyan negocios pequeños y restaurantes del área de Hartford

-The high school girls' volleyball team is hosting a car wash fundraiser on October 6th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The car wash will be at AAE. Please click the link for the flyer and more information. Come out and

-Homecoming will be Friday, October 19th from 6:30-10:30pm at AAE. Tickets will be $10 or $15 at the door. Attire is semi-formal
-Any girls at AAE between the ages of twelve and eighteen who are interested in participating in the Girls STEM Experience must register Please see the link for more information. https://goo.gl/gWEQTT

-Staff members would like parents, families, and students to keep up with all things happening at the school. Please follow the Instagrams listed to gain access of what is happening at and around AAE.
